Parlez vous Français ? A guide to the levels offered.
Here, you will find a bit more details about the levels offered in my classes. This should help you decide which class would be best for you. Beginners / near beginners
At this level, you are not required to have any knowledge of French at all. You might have done some French on language learning apps but have no speaking confidence. This level is equivalent to the CEFR A0
Beginners 2
When you attend this level, you already know a few things about introducing and talking about yourself. You know numbers and are starting to recognise specific structures and tenses such as present and close future.
Higher Beginners
You are already able to interact in shops, restaurants, at the train station and are aware of present, futures and some past tenses.
You are now increasing your knowledge of structures and increasing your listening / speaking confidence.
Lower Intermediate
You are at least A1+ CEFR level. You know about present, future and past tenses even if sometimes they still need to be practised. Your listening skills are starting to get better, you are increasing your vocabulary and learning how to interact more confidently.
Intermediate
To attend this level, you will possess a good knowledge of French, which is equivalent to an A2- at least.
You can now understand sentences and frequently used expressions. You will be able to talk about topics such as shopping, family, employment, and other common intermediate areas.
You are able to converse in more depth with others, your listening, reading and writing skills are also more acute.

Advanced
If you are at B1 CEFR level, or Advanced Deux, you are an independant speaker. Your level is equivalent to an AS level (A* – C). You now know how to interact and communicate your opinion, you can talk and debate on an array of topics such as work, education, some current issues you can talk about past experiences but also futur plans or goals.
Your syntax might not be perfect and you might make some errors but you are still well understood by native speakers and can actually hold a French speaking job or take part in French speaking studies.
Grammar wise, you know more complex formulas including the Subjunctive, the Conditional, plus-que-parfait, etc.
